Freshwater Strategy’s Jonathon Flegg tips pathway for Darwin Salties to NBL

In a recent appearance on SEN’s The Jimmy Smith Show, Jonathon Flegg, Director at Freshwater Strategy explained why he is tipping Darwin as the location of a future NBL franchise.

He highlighted the Darwin Salties impressive journey in the NBL1, as they fill a major gap in the Northern Territory’s sporting scene.

“They’ve only been in the competition for two years but like a lot of the franchises in the smaller markets, they’re dominating that small market.”

Under the guidance of newly appointed General Manager Matt Nason, the Darwin Salties are swiftly emerging as a strong contender for the NBL1 North premiership and a coveted market for growing new talent.

“In the two years that they’ve been playing, they’ve had the highest level of online watching and also the highest attendances of any NBL1 club,” Jonathon noted. This perspective is not only a reflection of the team’s potential but also resonates with the growing support from the NT Government, as highlighted in today’s edition of NT News.
