Freshwater Strategy’s Dr Mike Turner writes for the AFR ahead of the Voice referendum

In an opinion piece for The Australian Financial Review today, Freshwater Strategy’s Director, Dr Michael Turner explains how referendums create new political divisions in society, and outlines potential consequences of the Voice referendum on Australian politics.

Based on data from the UK’s European Union referendum, it doesn’t matter precisely where the dividing line falls on Saturday; it will inevitably create new political divisions that could persist for years.

The UK’s EU referendum has continued to inform election strategies for years. There is every chance this Australian referendum will do the same.
